Using Branches for decorating

I love them - and usually have them scattered around the house in different areas - sometimes I spray paint them white - sometimes silver - sometimes they're left in their natural state.

At christmas I spray painted some and hung decorations from them -

I have some in the office

black ones in the entrance way

And lastly I have some in the corner of the bathroom -

Yeah you're getting another John says - Suzan says
A short but very sweet one, I promise, but I have to share this

After hearing a bellow from the bathroom - followed by mild cursing.........................

Suzan says - " are you ok in there? "
John says - " I think you're trying to kill me "
Suzan says -" I thought you were in the shower?"
John says - " that's not the problem - it's coming out of the shower that's the problem "
Suzan says - " well I didn't do anything wrong this time - I was in the living room "
John says - " I'VE JUST BEEN IMPALED BY A BLOODY TREE "
John says - " who puts branches right in the path of stepping out of a shower?"
John says - " You're getting dangerous "
John says - " yeah go on, laugh ( mimicking a squeaky feminine laugh )
John says - " Now run and tell your blogger friends what I just said - quick Suzan - run.
Suzan says - " OH PLEASE, I don't tell them every single thing you know...................

IMPALED BY A TREE - is he priceless or what?
Now I really did think of removing them - for 30 seconds -
A couple of days later our dryer broke - and since we don't have a
clothesline some resourceful improvisation was in order................
I almost fell to the floor when I saw this

Very good John - very good - that's using your brains.....................
Not so dangerous now, are they sweetie????

  3. Haha. You guys should go on stage. :-) Love his solution to the broken dryer. Now he's not no reason to get it fixed. hehe

  5. Remind him how much money you're saving him by using the branches instead of buying decor like that. :)

  7. Hahaha! Oh John.

You know this is now a regular feature of your blog and we now expect it.

I read a rant from a blogger once about how she hated decorating with sticks in a vase. It was so funny, I wish I could find it.

Hey, did you see, we both got featured on "Shades of Amber"? Way to go!

  13. I love your branches and the way you have used them. Would you believe that I have two large bunches of white branches from 7 years ago that I spotted recently and forgot I had???? I already have ideas for them for my front porch at Christmas and this post has even inspired me more. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  18. First of all, I absolutely love you! I landed on your page through another blog (It's Overflowing) a couple of days ago, and found you so interesting I went back to the very beginning of your blog. July 17, 2012 is as far as I've gotten (but the moment I send this I'll be reading onward!), and this is such an old post you probably won't see the comment, but I just had to say something. This post was so hilarious I was laughing out loud with tears running down my face. You are one funny lady! We are almost the same age, (I'm one year older) but we share a first name (mine's not cool with a 'z' though) and the same constant need to rearrange things from when we were tiny. Every place I've ever lived is in constant flux because I'm never finished. You know exactly what I mean, how boring to have everything stay the same all the time! Just one example, I have six duvet covers which I don't dare admit to my friends because they think having TWO is over the top. I also have several different pairs of drapes for the bedroom so the windows and bed always compliment each other. And that's all I'll admit to here! If I had the money to do whatever I wanted, I know I'd be written off as officially loony. My walls would be thick (thicker than they already are!) with my constant repainting every year, well, (be honest Susan), I'd probably do it every six months, I'd need more closets for all of the shower curtains, rugs, drapes, sheets, (more duvet covers) an enormous storage unit for all of the different furniture (it gets so boring to see the same stuff for years)! I'm so bad that since my last relationship ended I've moved four times in 8 years because I get bored with the same walls etc and want something different and exciting again. I'll shut up now, you're probably falling asleep if you are even reading this at all! I understand that you have an enormous following, you can't possibly read and reply to every comment. But my word, you are hilarious, talented and so wonderfully unique!! Signed, another Susan in Canada, only I'm on Vancouver Island in BC

  19. Well Susan - first and foremost welcome to my crazy world lol !!!
I'm so honored and flattered that you've been reading all my posts - I don't know how they didn't put you to sleep - but seeing as they didn't - a HUGE thank you is in order.
I have 6 duvets too - all white - which is even more sick don't you think? Looks like we have a lot in common - they say admitting it is half the cure so maybe there's hope for us yet!!!
From one end of the country to the other - big hugs :)
( I lived in Vancouver briefly as a child - Richmond - and then we moved to Burnaby )
Sometimes - with all the political B.S. and language debate I wonder if we would have been better off staying in your beautiful province ( not that Montreal isn't beautiful - I love everything about it except the B.S )
    Much love,
    Suzan ( with a Z - do you remember Liza Minelli's song - Liza with a Z ) LMHO

  20. I'm beyond thrilled that you saw my post and replied. I did have a more detailed response back but it was ridiculously long and I got embarrassed and deleted it.
Thanks for replying and also for telling me about the Liza Minnelli song.... I should be Susan with a 'sss'!
Love and hugs from Vancouver Island, Susan xo
