Here's the secret.............so says Pat Robertson

Pat Robertson sheds some wisdom on marriages
I've highlighted my responses to this -
Responding to a question from a viewer, Robertson said that married men "have a tendency to wander" and it is the spurned wife's job to focus on the positive and make sure the home is so enticing, he doesn't want to stray.
that's why I paint books Pat -
"I've been trying to forgive my husband for cheating on me," the viewer writes. "We have gone to counseling, but I just can't seem to forgive, nor can I trust. How do you let go of the anger? How do you trust again?"
While Robertson's co-host hedged on the question, calling forgiveness "difficult" and spousal infidelity "one of the ultimate betrayals," Robertson got right to the point.
"Here's the secret," the famous evangelical said. "Stop talking the cheating. He cheated on you, well, he's a man."
oh for goodness sakes - is that all there is too it?   thanks for the tip!
now here's a little secret for you Mr Roberson - shhh - don't let it get around - if my spouse cheats on me - you can be sure I won't be hanging around " talking the cheating " - I'll be long gone...........because, well, I'm a woman.
The wife needs to focus on the reasons she married her spouse, he continued.
"Does he provide a home for you to live in," Robertson said. 'Does he provide food for you to eat? Does he provide clothes for you to wear? Is he nice to the children... Is he handsome?"
what about the work we do?
what if we buy the groceries?
what if we buy our own clothes?
and what if, God Forbid, he's not handsome?
can we get angry then?
Robertson also offered a little advice on the "tendency of man."
"Recognize also, like it or not, males have a tendency to wander a little bit," Robertson said. "What you want to do is make a home so wonderful that he doesn't want to wander" or give in to the "salacious" magazine pictures and Internet filled with porn.
ok - wait a minute - I'm confused Pat -  why is he even looking at salacious magazines or porn sites?  Is it strictly because he's a man?
just so you know - the " tendency of women " is to leave when someone breaks the
most sacred of vows..............

we tend to " wander " too - through the yellow pages - finding divorce lawyers
This is certainly not Robertson's first foray into anecdotal marital counseling, however.
In January, Robertson told viewers that "awful-looking" women can cause marriages to lose their spark.
oh oh.................I may be in trouble there from time to time.
"It just isn't something to just lie there, 'Well, I'm married to him so he's got to take me slatternly looking,'" he said. "You've got to fix yourself up, look pretty."
is it ok for the man to look slatternly?  and if he does, is it ok to cheat on HIM ?
Similarly, in 2010 the host advised a woman complaining about her husband's flirtatious ways not to "hassle him about it" and just make herself as attractive as possible.
Once we've made ourselves " as attractive as possible " can we adopt flirtatious ways too?
He also once told a husband upset that his wife didn't respect him that he could always just "become a Muslim and you could beat her."

Even I can't come up with a response to that particular one ..................

Wish I could speak to Mr. Robertson - because I have just one teeny little question I'd love him to answer.

Which rule book did you study Sir, exactly?

Does anyone else find this as hysterical as I do - ( in a totally offensive and nauseating way ) ?

But I think I'm going to shave my legs and  put make up on today - just in case.......................

When my daughter told me she found a curbside table and had snatched it up - my first thought was
" good for you honey "  save the landfill - save some money .....................

And then she brought it to me - and I thought " oh oh - I've created a bit of a monster here - I mean surely there are limits on what you grab?

It has to meet with some kind of criteria before throwing it in your trunk?

Apparently not.....................oh my kid's have such faith in me

But after it was sanded and corners were glued back down it seemed a little more do-able

I painted it paris grey and white ( Annie Sloan always )
For the lighter part - I painted it grey first - then dry brushed white over all of it
For the darker part - I painted the grey - then went over it with graphite - and then took a damp cloth and
ran it along the table following the wood grain.................giving it a very " worn " look

this look ( in real life - probably not so much in my terrible photos ) give the effect of a zinc like finish

I discovered this technique once by accident - when I decided to paint something graphite and didn't like it.
I panicked and tried to wash it off - and this was the result.
Don't underestimate the power of mistakes - I think Einstein may have started off like this.................
( and he and I have a lot in common )

The beauty of this technique is there's no " rules " ( I hate rules ) too white? Slap on some more grey!
too grey? Slap on some more white! to white? Slap on some more grey!
Granted you have to know when to stop slapping or you could just go on doing it forever lol

Oh look - a book on Steve Jobs - you see?  I surround myself with geniuses.
But I prefer the photo on the back of the cover

a little better right?
I know it's not a look for everyone because
John says - well you made it look old again.....................

Random thought

Do you think Annie Sloan started this craze so that she could get people all over the world to paint all their furniture - and then in 10 years she'll come out with a product that removes it all down to the wood?

You all have a great weekend !!!
Much love,
