Time keeps on slipping........................

GMA & C!!!

So today I finished the 2nd table from the 2 I bought last week

The bigger one ended up like this

and when I pulled out the smaller one to paint it was screaming " transfer "

so I painted it out first in paris gray and pure white - and than found the perfect transfer  - a clock face which fit in with the circle top of the table -
however, I decided I would just hold it down  ( instead of taping it down ) because I'm always in such a hurry  that I actually didn't want to take the time to go get the tape.....................and you guessed it - the clock graphic " slipped " and I had to repaint the surface and start over.
ALWAYS TAPE YOUR IMAGE !!!!!!!!!!!!! LEARN FROM MY MISTAKES PEOPLE - BECAUSE I DON'T SEEM TO!

Here it is taped -

I used the pencil rubbing technique again - and I didn't bother going over it with a marker this time - I kind of like the faded look on this piece so just left it as it was.

I sanded the edges on a little bit ( and only the edges ) and there she is

Here's the image if you'd like to use it courtesy of the Graphics Fairy

I should be finished the dresser I'm working on this weekend - it's never taken me this long to do anything but in all honesty I only work on it a little bit every day.

But I AM working on something that brings me nothing but pure joy - which I will probably be able to show you on Sunday -
Hint?
It's bigger than a breadbox lol

Have a wonderful Friday -

  1. Love, love, love this table - I have a round table that I have been wanting to do the clock on but, just haven't found the time. I have too many pieces ahead of it but my fingers are itching to start, lol....

  2. I just found a round table yesterday and I need to figure out what I'm doing with it. Was glad to see your great ideas. I tried a transfer the other day and did okay. I may give it a try again on my table. I'm like you and think I can just take the shortcut route. Doesn't work out for me that great either. :) Your table with the Union Jack is really cool and the little clock table is adorable.

  14. Tick, tick ,tick - Love that you have two oops stories from these two tables. I wish more people would share their mistakes. Do you ever use reverse Mod Podge as a transfer? I know I told you about the transfer iron-on paper for wood, but I have not had the chance to use it. It is expensive so the piece must be worthy!

    1. I just printed an image from The Graphics Fairy on regular computer paper – taped it ( ink side down ) on to the table – and rubbed the design with a pencil – hard.
      That’s it!!!
      Easy easy easy!
      Thanks for coming by Shari
