And you learn something every day!

I'm like a child - I get so giddy with excitement every time someone ( takes the time ) to teach me or steer me towards something new!

For the longest time I used Picassa for my photos and always seemed to have problems with it - then my computer crashed and I lost it - and so have just been downloading my terrible pics and hoping that people can see past them..............not to mention I haven't been been putting my blog name on them so I risk the possibility of not being sourced when they are pinned.

And then along came Maureen - from It's all connected - and now I'm a pic monkey afficonado ( well hardly but it doesn't take much to make me feel like one lol )  Thanks so much M!!!
You can frame your photos  -  check
You can add script - check
You can include little notes - check
And a ton more things - not to mention crop - clarify - brighten - your photos -
I'm sure 95% of you know about ( and use ) this site - for those of you that don't -  GO - right now -
Stop what you're doing and get over there - it's amazing!

And on another note, why hasn't this dresser sold :(  ??????????
I thought this would fly out the store when I finished it - is it just a little too much do you think?

  1. I'll have to check out pic monkey. So fun. (scratching my head) about your dresser not selling. This is one area I still don't understand about painting furniture. Some stuff sells quickly and I'm surprised and other items that I love sit forever. Go figure...

  2. Thanks for the heads up on pic monkey - I am still struggling with my pics - they are hit or miss (mostly miss). But, I am just using a point and shoot camera. Someday, I hope for a big girl camera, lol....
The dresser will go - just hasn't been seen by the right person yet.....

  3. I tried pic monkey then switched over to Ribbit which I find offers more. It is exactly the same as the now defunct Picnik.

  4. I LOVE Picmonkey! I also tried Ribbit but with all the new features on Picmonkey, I went right back. Just look at how great your picture looks! Regarding the dresser - is it lavender and pale blue or white?

  6. Well. I learned something too. Because I never knew how to watermark my pictures (putting your blog name on it), and I am always afraid they'll be stolen. So I will definitely go over and give it a whirl! I have so much to learn myself about how to improve my blog, make it look more professional.

That is one cute dresser. I don't know either why it hasn't sold. It's waiting for the right person to come along I guess!

  7. Your dresser is adorable! I haven't tried Pic Monkey! Will check it out! Thank you for your kind words about the kitchen! I came over to follow, but can't find where! I see the Linky Followers at the bottom...is that where I should follow? I am not signed up through Linky..will have to look into that! I was out of blogland for awhile with the remodel and some things have changed! Christie at three pixie lane

  8. You a verrrry welcome, Suzy! You can always be sure that if I can do something on a computer, it's simple enough for a five year old to do. lol You do such amazing furniture makeovers that they should be shown in the best possible way. I can't wait to take your painting course! ~ Maureen

  9. Hi Suzan!

I thought I lost all my pictures when my PC died. Best Buy was able to bring it back from the dead :) I use Picasa and Pic Monkey. I have to agree that the picture (taking, editing and the FINDING them in my jumbled file is a real chore.

I have to agree that finding out new things is always good! That's what I have been up to lately...

  11. It's the diamonds. To me, they are taking away from the gorgeous lines of the dresser. If you paint them out, I bet it will sell fast. The colors you chose are beautiful!

    1. That seems to be the consensus Cass!!!
Thanks for the tip - now to get around to that, sigh............

  12. I agree with Cass...something about the diamonds being a bit too much. I know it's a beautiful piece but I think they detract from the real beauty.

I'm so technically challenged it's not even funny! I've used Picasa and Pic Monkey. Whatever I do with photos, and I'm not a great photographer w/a point & shoot, it takes time. I need to practice more! :)

  14. Have you tried ipiccy.com yet, Suzan? I LOVE it! Try it and let me know whatcha think. :) As far as your dresser....I agree with everyone else. I think the purple diamonds are a wee bit too much. Maybe if you painted them the same color as the dresser and let the handles and scrolly work on the drawers be the "main attraction"? It's a beautiful piece, though!

  15. I've tried pic monkey but still seem to prefer my program Paint Shop Pro. Similar to Photo Shop but not as expensive (at least it wasn't years ago when I got it). I used to do a lot of graphic design with it, but now I just watermark my pictures.
I'm sure that dresser will sell...it really is adorable!

  16. The dresser is beautiful. It's definitely the kind of piece that will take someone who has just the right decor for it, but the time will come!

  19. I don't agree with the comments about the diamonds. To me its the color. I'm 65 and when i was about 10 years old I painted my room that light lilac color to match some bedding from Sears. My parents let me decorate to my own desires. I had my dad put white folding shutters on the top of the double sash windowns and stripe white and lilac cafe curtains on the bottoms. This piece would have been exactly matching there. But, unfortunately, about a month into living in the bedroom I was sick of the color and wanted something else like blue or yellow.

    1. the pic doesn't show the color too well - it's really a very light pink - but you could be right about the color - dear God nothing went right with this dresser I guess ( I love it lol )

  21. I've done a few things with PicMonkey and was quite proud of myself! GIMP, however, is a whole other (sad) story...: (((

I think the dresser is adorable just the way it is, but how about a compromise: painting out just the four diamonds that are closest to the drawer pulls (the farthest left and the farthest right in the bottom rows on each drawer)?
